DOWNLOADABLE PORTABLE DEVICES

Did you recently get a MobileReader Device? If so, you’ll want to use the e-Resources available through the Nassau Digital Doorway to download books to your Kindle, Nook, Sony e-Reader, iPad or other compatible mobile device. A listing of compatible devices is included on the Nassau Digital Doorway’s website.

The Glen Cove Library continues to expand its collection of eBook titles. We now have over 5,000 eBooks available for download. There are also over 3,000 eAudiobooks available for your listening enjoyment on your computer, iPod or MP3 player.

Although these books are digital copies, they are treated just like hardcover books. They are checked out to patrons. If a book is unavailable, you can place a request for it. There are no late fees. When the loan period is up, the book will no longer be playable on your computer or portable device. The book can be checked out again if it is available. The loan period for eBooks is 14 days and eAudiobooks are 7 days. Should you need further assistance, call or stop by the reference desk. The Librarians will be happy to assist you.
