“This week I finished reading The Tattooist of Aushwitz and Southernmost. I would highly recommend both books. The Tattooist is based on a true story. In a way, it puts things in perspective. As much as we feel we are prisoners in our own home, we have our family, good food, heat, tv, the internet etc, unlike the prisoners of Aushwitz. There was no light at the end of the tunnel for many of them.
Southernmost is such a well written book. It’s the story of a Tennessee preacher who realizes he has been leading a hypothetical life when it comes to tolerance. I look forward to having the author at our luncheon at La Bussola in October.” – B. La Motta
